About the NOD
Whatever life threw at Tony, he gave it a simple accepting nod. And nodding paid off big time. Until it didn't. It was the day Tony found a leak in the garage of his luxury Hollywood condominium. Right over his luxury car. A leak from the swimming pool above. It was a genuine hazard and a fitting obsession. Because his lifetime of nodding -- at his unstable mother, his dream career, even the woman he loved -- was about to burst. To unravel every success it had ever helped him achieve. At last, Tony had to face a problem nodding couldn't fix.
Now writer, filmmaker and performer Tony Drazan tells the story of how a simple nod brought him from success, to failure, to personal fortune.

The Venue
Founded circa 1973, The Nuyorican Poets Cafe began as a living room salon in the East Village apartment of writer and poet, Miguel Algarin. Algarin, a college professor at the center of this blossoming arts community, was dedicated to bringing new work into the public eye.
